Due to expansion a new vacancy for a Laboratory Technician has been created at an exciting new microfluidics 'lab-on-chip' Life Science Technology Company based in Oxfordshire. The Laboratory Technician will be a key member of Engineering Team and will use their background in life science, bio-tech or biochemistry or medical device sector, to contribute to the development of a cutting edge life science technology platform.

This exciting new microfluidics 'lab-on chip' technology spin-out is set to revolutionise the life science, healthcare and biotech sectors. Their novel microfluidics platform can automate tests currently conducted in traditional test tube methods offering unprecedented control, accuracy and flexibility.

  • Bachelors' degree in a scientific or engineering subject
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar laboratory or engineering technician role.
  • Good general knowledge of standard scientific laboratory equipment
  • Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
  • Preparing and planning experiments including equipment setup and ordering of parts and other consumable items
  • Analysing device performance and test results
  • Writing and presenting experimental reports
  • Experience working in bio-chemistry laboratories and familiarity with biological hazards and safe working practices for biological material handling
  • Electronic component testing e.g. IC chips
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, preferably ISO13485
