The Senior Physicist / Development Engineer will design novel systems & sensing solutions to problems across a range of fascinating industries including Medical Devices, Life Sciences, FMCG, Industrial Automation and occasionally Defence. This is a senior position for a hands-on Physicist / Development Engineer requiring prior experience of technical leadership -including both Project Management and Man-Management.


This Senior Physicist / Development engineer is a brand new role for someone to be a technical lead in the design of systems for complex physical sensing problems; systems that are used in Industrial, Defence, Energy and Consumer sectors for a range of technologies from Robotics to Communications to Medical Devices. The Physicist / Engineer will take responsibility for the technical solution. In addition to hands-on science & engineering, you will be responsible for pulling together talented project teams and acting as primary interface with the client organisation.


To be considered for the role of Senior Physicist you require the following: To meet the requirements of this role you will have:

  • A good first degree or PhD in Physics, Applied Physics or a related Engineering discipline (maybe Electronics Engineering ?)
  • Proven technical leadership in a commercial/industrial R&D environment
  • High-level proficiency in the practical application of at least one branch of Physics (for example, Optics, Electromagnetism, Fluid Dynamics or Condensed Matter Physics)
